Am really keen to see the ChangeCamp model grow. It will be great to see what kind of new energy we can generate with the project you're suggesting, Mark. One thing to keep in mind: it will be important to manage our expectations. We'll need to be clear about what counts as success. Really looking forward to discussing, strategizing and scheming our way forward...

I'm very excited about this project. So many new tools have emerged in the last four years that can help make this the most engaged and ideas-driven election Toronto has ever had.

Thanks Mark and Alex.
No doubt open government as a number of related topics will be talked about at some of these hyperlocal ChangeCamp and online. More importantly, in my mind, these events and online spaces should provide and demonstrate an EXPERIENCE of what open government and grassroots community engagement FEELS like to the non-techwonk regular citizen.
Those with a technology interest will no doubt want to talk about open data and open source, but sometimes people just want to talk about making their neighbourhoods safer, happier and more vibrant places.
I envision this project to be as much about the culture of our citizenship as it is about the technologies of our governance. I'm really excited to begin.
